Good for Everyone!

This book is aimed at people in their 20s and 30s searching for Mr/Ms/Right. But I soon realized that it’s excellent for searching out not only lover and mate, but also friends–at any age. The premise being that one must be happy in one’s own skin before one can be happy in any relationship, whether friend or lover or mate for life. And the suggestions and drills for venturing out on this quest are concise, reasonable and effective. I’m 75 years old and at this age, loneliness is a daily thing to cope with. Thanks to this book, I’m able to put myself Out There with less and less fear and having a wonderful time meeting new people, doing things that are fun and interesting. This book teaches one how to have a self-respecting, healthy attitude, enabling one to pursue any goal.

Highly Recommended!

The perfect dating book. Extremely realistic, down to earth, and based off of real experiences. Love that it is broken down into steps that each individual reader can take their own time on. Also thought that the anecdotes from real surveys and advice columns made each corresponding part of the book seem like it is possible to find love by completing each step of the process. The Universal Rejection Truth as described in the book really puts everything into perspective and shows that there are always people out there who want to be with you and if someone doesn’t, you can easily move on with confidence after reading Harlan’s book. Would recommend in a second to any “single & searching” friend.

Finally a realistic honest look at Dating

“Getting Naked” is a easy read with good realistic advice about the world of love and relationships. For those who have read the authors previous books, this maybe his best one yet. Harlan has a way of getting across good information in a fun informative way. I highly recommend it for those entering the dating world.Getting Naked: Five Steps to Finding the Love of Your Life (While Fully Clothed & Totally Sober)

This book really helps guide you through the world of relationships. It’s all about taking a leap, and overcoming the fear of rejection. Following the advice written in this book will undoubtedly help individuals become confident, even in the face of rejection. Reading it made the steps seem like they were always present but I just needed someone to point them out to me. I loved this book and I can’t wait to actually start trying to find the right guy for me. This book is all about going at your own pace, step by step.

A MUST READ!

Reading this book was like sitting down to coffee with my best friend. Harlan’s writing is conversational, witty, and 100% applicable to today’s dating scene. The advice is honest, genuine, and pertains to everyone. Do yourself (and your love life) a favor and READ “Getting Naked.” You won’t regret it!

Amazing

I was hesitant to pick this up never being one to look at relationship advice books, always firmly believing I had a handle on things…but I’m so glad I did! Cohen has an easy writing style and straight forward logic that rang true to me. I’m young, professionally successful and yet no matter how good with people I was, have always been unsuccessful in pursuits of love. I’m sure many of those reading this could say the same thing. All I know is that the moment I finished the book ( after starting the naked challenge) I quickly began reading it all over again and guess what? It’s even BETTER the second time! For those of you who, like me, have never picked up a relationship advice book this is definitely the one for you! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Very well done, practical!

Harlan has done an excellent job approaching a subject that is, sometimes, “taboo” to talk about. His easy to read, realistic approach to talking about meeting and dating is very fair and well done. The focus of this book is about self confidence and meeting people for the right reasons.

Another knock out book.

Ready to take on the (dating) world!

Harlan Cohen has written a terrific book on what it’s like to navigate the world of dating in today’s day and age. I read it cover to cover in two days and I feel like the world of dating is completely open to me now. His writing is very conversational and encouraging – an important thing in a book like this! I definitely recommend it to anyone, especially someone looking to jumpstart their love life.

It’s okay

Seemed a bit like reading the same thing over and over again.
Good thoughts, but too far between them. I think it was more
directed to High School students, than college and older adults.

Great advice for my college-bound daughter

I have read Harlan’s collumn in the newspaper and always felt that he provided practical relationship advice that aligns with my personal values without being "preachy" or judgemental. I bought this book for my daughter who will be off to college this summer. While we have an open relationship and discuss many relationship issues, some intimate issues are awkward to discuss with your mom. I trusted Harlan to provide thoughtful insights and perspectives, and I was not disappointed. My daughter just finished this book and has already quoted some great advice back to me.
