Lisa’s Man-Magnet Cake Recipe

VALENTINE’S DAY NEWS:

NEW EVIDENCE THE WAY TO A MAN’S HEART IS THROUGH HIS STOMACH:

“The Man-Magnet Cake”

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, it’s time to kick your love-life into high gear. Woo the object of your affection with fresh-baked scents of cinnamon and vanilla. I don’t know if it’s the food/Mom connection, or something deeper in their hardwiring. All I know is, it works like catnip for men.

According to Francoise Rapp, aromatherapist and alchemist of Melusine-Arom'Alchemy, "Vanilla and cinnamon are warm and comforting scents. Scientists have found that certain food-related fragrances like these stimulate our emotional and sexual appetites.” Below is Lisa's time-tested recipe for “Man-Magnet Cake.”

The secret is to put the "Man-Magnet Cake" in to bake about an hour before your man arrives. Your place will have a yummy, homey cinnamon smell that men just can’t get enough of.

THE MAN-MAGNET CAKE

Ingredients for cake:

1 package yellow cake mix

4 eggs

1 cup sour cream

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup water

Ingredients for cake filling:

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

1 cup finely chopped pecans

2 Tablespoons of brown sugar

Ingredients for Vanilla Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

1 1/2 Tablespoons warmed milk (do not boil)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 375.

In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients and beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Pour approximately two-thirds of the batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube or bundt pan.

Combine filling ingredients and sprinkle liberally over cake ingredients in pan. Spread remaining cake batter over filling mixture and bake for approximately 50 minutes at 375 degrees, until cake springs back when touched. Cool in pan for half an hour, then turn pan upside down and gently remove.

Prepare Vanilla Glaze when ready to use by sifting powdered sugar into a bowl, then adding in vanilla and heated milk. If glaze is not liquid enough to drizzle, a little more milk (up to 1 teaspoon) may be added.

Drizzle vanilla glaze on top of cake, letting it drip down the sides. Stand back, and watch the men come running.
