Lisa Daily Daytime ShowWhat Your Favorite Pizza Topping Says About Your Personality by Lisa Daily

This week on the Daytime show:

Oh Wise Pizza Pie, What’s My Love Fortune?

Yes, food really does have a connection to love. How to find your perfect match at the pizza parlor? Not only does your favorite pizza offer clues to your personality, but it can actually help you find your perfect pizza match — Like cheese and sauce.

Dr. Alan Hirsch, director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, found that your favorite pizza toppings reflect your personality in a recent study commissioned by Domino’s Pizza.

According to the study: Thirty-five percent of respondents preferred plain cheese pizzas.

What your toppings say about you:

Non-traditionalists
According to Dr. Hirsch, those who prefer non-traditional toppings such as pineapple and onion tend to be aggressive, achievement-oriented, natural leaders. They do not easily suffer fools.

Hirsch found that people who prefer traditional, single meat toppings described themselves as being irritable, argumentative, procrastinators, who frequently conveniently “forget” obligations at work and at home.

Meat, Meat and More Meat
According to Hirsch, those who preferred traditional, multiple meat toppings are dramatic, seductive extroverts who thrive as the center of attention. They crave novelty in all aspects of their life, are fashionable and impeccably groomed.

Single Veggie Lovers
Pizza eaters who prefer one-vegetable topping pizzas (like tomato, or mushroom)?? are empathetic, understanding, well adjusted and easy going, making them the ideal parents.

Lots of Veggies
Those who prefer multiple vegetable toppings are trustworthy, loyal and dependable. They value friendship and function best in a group environment. They are humble, introverted, and avoid the spotlight.

Additional study findings revealed:

Nearly two-thirds of respondents somewhat or completely agreed that their pizza topping choices reflect their personalities.

Forty-eight percent say they would never try new pizza topping combinations, while 38 percent say they order the same pizza every time.

So, what does pizza have to do with LOVE? Here’s what Dr. Hirsch found in his study:

Pizza eaters who prefer more non-traditional topping combinations, such as pineapple and onion, are most attracted to people who prefer similar non-traditional toppings.

If you prefer traditional single-meat toppings like pepperoni, your attraction is for a person who likes a pizza loaded with meat toppings, perhaps because you’re attracted to their unbridled zeal and passion.

Those who favor multiple meat toppings are most attracted to one another. This poses a problem for those hopeless romantics who prefer single meats — their loves love another.

Single meat lovers, like pepperoni — those who prefer multiple vegetable toppings are most attracted to those who prefer non-traditional toppings, who are attracted to one another.

Single meat and multiple vegetable fanatics — those who prefer single vegetables are attracted to just about everyone.

I’ve never met a pizza I didn’t like — but I would have to say that my favorites are veggie lovers (lots of veggies) and tomato (single veggie) .

Veggie lovers are:
Those who prefer multiple vegetable toppings are trustworthy, loyal and dependable. They value friendship and function best in a group environment. They are introverted, and avoid the spotlight.

Introverted and avoid the spotlight? Uh, no. I’m about as extroverted as they come, and the spotlight suits me just fine. 🙂

Haha, you sound like me.
I too, generally prefer veggie, which means:
Those who prefer multiple vegetable toppings are trustworthy, loyal and dependable. They value friendship and function best in a group environment. They are humble, introverted, and avoid the spotlight.

I’m not exactly an introvert (although I find myself more and more so) and I give dating advice on national television. So, not exactly spotlight shy.

Neat column, Lisa. What if your personality falls between Veggies and multiple meats? Sure sign of Schitzophrenia? Especially if you carefully avoid vegetables on any other plate. And what if your bride of 47 years (Lois) goes for straight cheese and sauce? Would you give the romance a chance?
I’m off to record the next “Daytime” on Tuesday. You are terrific!
